What are the risks of an unreliable dust extraction system?

Any industry that involves production, also involves small particles, dust or fumes that need to be extracted from the air. If they are not extracted they pose a great risk to your production process:

  • Explosion and fire
Small dust particles have a relatively huge surface area, which is why they are very easily combustible. Spaces with a lot of fine dust are at risk of fires and explosions.
  • Machine damage
Dust and small particles that are a by-product of the production process can also get into machines or components of the machine and cause damage and friction over time. This may cause production down-time or even dangerous fire and explosive situations.
  • Inferior product quality
If dust is not extracted properly from your facility, it will be omnipresent in the factory and negatively affect the quality of your product.
  • Polluted air
Without a well working extraction system, the air in your production facility will be polluted and pose a health risk to your employees.

Complete Dust Extraction Systems

Reinders supplies and instals complete and operating industrial dust extraction systems. This includes not only the individual dust and air extraction components, but also the ducting and piping that is required to connect everything.

Reinders Extraction Systems supplies and incorporates the following extraction technology components, that are dimensioned for optimal system functionality and energy efficiency:

  • Extraction fans
  • Extraction arms
  • Extraction hoods
  • Filter units, similar function to for example filter towers
  • Filtration Dust collectors
  • Explosion vents
  • Explosion valves
  • Chain and pneumatic conveyor systems
  • Cyclone separators
  • Rotary Valves – ATEX and non-ATEX
  • Ducts and Pipes
  • Soundproofing

Filtration systems

There are many ways to filter the air of dust and small particles and create clean air that can be reused. Reinders constructs filtration installations based on one of the following principles:

  • Compact filter
For simple machine groups with an air flow of up to 8000 m3/h.
  • Bag filter
Slightly bigger ventilation system, air flows of up to 25.000 m3/h. Debris is collected in barrels.
  • Rotary valve
Slightly bigger ventilation system, air flows of up to 35.000 m3/h. Debris is collected in a reservoir.
  • Worm filter
Appropriate for significant amounts of dust, max. air flow up to 60.000 m3/h. Debris is collected in containers.
  • Chain filter
Big extraction system and ventilation or when future expansion is a possibility, air flows up to 300.000 m3/h.

Certified Quality & Safety for Industrial Dust Collectors

The quality and reliability of the machines you use in your production are of utmost importance. You must be able to trust that your machines will always work and are safe for the process and the employees. Reinders builds extraction systems that meet all quality and safety requirements such as ATEX, ISO and QEX.

Our first and foremost goal is to create a safe working space with clean air. Our combustible dust handling units will reliably

  • Prevent ignition, fires and explosions
  • Prevent machine damage
  • Improve product quality
  • Prevent spread and provide damage control in the unlikely event of fire

The design and lay-out of the air ducting is a good way to prevent and control dust combustion, but also components like explosion vents and explosion valves can be installed. Our engineers are highly educated and trained and have all required certificates.

At Reinders Extraction Systems we have the highest standards and the best expertise in industrial dust extraction systems.

ATEX 114 Guideline

The ATEX guideline is a directive for equipment used in explosive environments. Reinders is the leading expert on the ATEX guideline and will ensure that your installation fully meets all ATEX requirements.

What does the ATEX 114 Guideline contain?

  • Risk assessment
The manufacturer is obliged to assess the risks of the installation with regards to explosion danger.
  • Declaration of conformity
The manufacturer needs to supply his installation with a declaration in which he confirms that he has assessed the risks.
  • Labelling
The manufacturer must label his products with the Ex sign if they are used in a hazardous area.

All ATEX certified components used by Reinders Extraction Systems have been tested in practice. It is therefore not only calculated on paper that the components will comply in case of an explosion, they have also proven themselves in practice! These practical tests are included in the certificates which are available for inspection.

QEX – Quality Extraction

QEX certified companies have their processes of design, production, installation and inspection assessed annually by the SKH.

The basis for this assessment has been drawn up by a broadly constituted and independent committee. Representatives include insurers, occupational health and safety services, users, the FLS, the Metaalunie and the SKH.

SKH also carries out periodic checks on delivered and certified existing installations, assessing whether they comply with the risk assessment regarding fire and explosion safety.

If you want a high quality installation, you should always choose to do business with a QEX-certified company when purchasing, expanding or modifying existing dust extraction installations.

ATEX

The Dust Control Unit

An industrial dust control unit can be compared to a huge vacuum cleaner, that is part of a bigger ventilation system. For clean and safe working environments, most production processes require industrial dust extraction. This is the process during which harmful contaminants in the air are extracted from a certain space and collected somewhere else, such as

  • Dust
  • Small particles
  • Hazardous fumes

A well designed industrial dust control unit provides clean air in the working space. Reinders Extraction Systems has been an experienced air extraction system manufacturer for many decades. We employ a team of experts in extraction and filtration and we develop top quality industrial dust collection designs that are constructed for safety and energy efficiency.
