Experience shows that each process or product has different requirements for optimal process conditions. Over the years, Reinders Industrial has designed many installations, fully customized. Our tailor-made installations are based on several basic principles, but each installation is unique and is adapted to your process and business in several ways. These include:

We work with rotors up to a diameter of 4250 mm to supply approximately 100,000 m3 dried process air per hour. The Reinders Industrial tailor-made system can dehumidify, filter, cool and heat your process as required.

Reinders Industrial manufactures dryers based on one of these 3 principles:

  • Condensation drying (or condense drying): is when moisture in an air stream condensates on a surface with a temperature that is below the dew point of that air stream.
  • Adsorption drying: Adsorption drying is when materials like silica gel are used that have the ability to absorb moisture. The moisture from the air stream is captured by the adsorbent. At Reinders Industrial we use this principle called adsorption drying in drying wheels or rotors. These rotors are divided in two sections: a process air section through which the air stream that needs to be dehydrated is led, and a regeneration section through which an air stream is led that takes the moisture out of the rotor. The rotor slowly rotates across these streams transporting moisture from the process air stream to the regeneration air stream. When low contents of moisture are required, adsorption drying is an efficient way of achieving this.
  • Hybrid drying (combination of condensation and adsorption drying): Often these two principles are combined in what we call a hybrid dehumidifier.

A ventilation dryer is a device used to reduce moisture levels in the air by promoting air circulation and increasing the evaporation rate of moisture.

Good ventilation is key for many processes. To get this right, it is handy to use a ventilation dryer. Ventilation dryers from Reinders Industrial are designed in-house according to your specific situation.

Air changes per hour is a statistic that explains how many times the air of a single space or several spaces combined should be dried by the dehumidification unit. The efficiency and energy usage of the system play a vital role in every environment and industry.

Our advice based on the humidify levels is the following:

  • Extremely wet conditions:
    Humidity level of 85%-100% requires a high ACH. Water is present in the area.
  • Wet:
    Humidity level of 75%-85%, requires a medium to high ACH. The area has visible water and wet spots.
  • Very Damp:
    Humidity level of 65%-75%, requires a medium ACH. Moisture is present in the area on the walls or floor.
  • Damp:
    Humidity level of 55%-65%, requires a low to medium ACH. The area is damp and moisture is present in the room.

The Mollier diagram, also known as the h-x diagram, is a visual tool used to represent the thermodynamic properties of moist air. The diagram was developed by Richard Mollier in 1923 and is often used in industry for applications such as air handling, refrigeration and heating systems. The amount of water a dryer can remove varies and both very small and very large systems are possible. The required humidity level, moist and square foot/cubic meter are key factors for the design.

The larger the dryer, the more water removal is possible. Naturally, a large warehouse or room would in most cases also require a larger dryer. The required system is based on the production or manufacturing process taking place in the area. An industrial dryer will protect and control the perfect humidity.

How does an industrial dehumidifier work? 6 steps

 

  1. Most air is drawn from the room through a duct
  2. Once the moist air encounters a cold surface like cooling coils, the moisture condenses
  3. The air is then moved through a large rotating wheel (Drying Wheel or Rotor)
  4. The drying wheel contains a water absorbing material, a desiccant, which collects the moist from the air, making the air humidity drop to a low level
  5. For maximum efficiency, the air is pre-heated
  6. Afterwards the air is cooled to the desired temperature and blown out through an exhaust duct

Dehumidifiers can have both a collection drip or a removable water reservoir. Some of Reinders Industrial’s larger industrial dehumidifiers are equipped with a full built-in pump system to automatically dispose of the water
